At the fifth general assembly of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) held in Syrian Capital Damascus, Sheikh Dr. Hareth Sulaiman al Dhari re-elected as the Secretary General for two years at the end of election process where members of the Secretariat voted on Sunday, 27 July 2008.
HEYET Net Damascus Office - The elections were transparent electoral mechanism as having solved the Secretariat itself to all members of the Shura Council expanding of them to elect a new general secretariat and secretary-general to them. It is worth noting that the mechanism of elections in the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) provides that the electoral cycle will continue for two years. This was third period. The Shura Council elected the members of the Secretariat, then offered the names of the vote to fill the post of Secretary General where Dr. Sheikh Harith al Dari has gained by 41 votes out of forty-three votes. At the election process news agencies, some satellite channels and representatives of known media organizations have attended. Managers and staffs of the Information and Media Department in AMSI also congratulate newly elected Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Harith al Dhari for his new journey. May Allah Almighty protected all who work for His straight path to establish just order in the earth, to expel the occupation from Iraq and to liberate the country. (Amen) HEYET Net
