Statement (No. 360) - The Intention of Bush to Send More Troops to Iraq
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
All praise is for Allah. Peace and prayer be upon our Prophet Muhammad, His family, His companions and his followers,
It appears that president Bush determined to send more of the American troops to Iraq in spite of the approval of the former Defense Minister and some of the American army leaders that the military solution in Iraq is impossible, and in spite of the demands to end that losing war, and the opposing voices to send more of troops from the democrats, and others from the American nation. the President pretext is the request of the representatives of the Iraqi people, referring to the current government like al-Hakim, al-Maliki, al-Hashemi and others who demanded the protection of themselves while they represent only themselves.
The failure of 140 thousand of American troops in achieving Bush goals makes it is impossible for another twenty thousand to achieve that goals, consequently these soldiers fate wont be better than those who will join them in Iraq, but we know that these troops will not die until they kills times their number of innocent civilians.
The Association of Muslim Scholars (AMSI) condemns this step which will cost the Iraqi and the American people expensive cost. The Association (AMSI) calls on behalf of the majority of the Iraqi people the American Congress and the American People to prevent the American President from sending more troops, and work on the withdrawal of existing forces on the Iraq soil, to end this war and bloodshed of innocent lives from Iraqi nation and the American nation, and stop the waste of large amounts of money and efforts unnecessarily.
