President of Mosul University Abi Sa'eed al-Daiwachi was dismissed from his post while his deputy Mowafaq Hamdoun was transferred to Baghdad, according to an informed source at the University. ![]() The source said Monday that the dean of Agriculture College of Mosul University has submitted a request to relieve him form his responsibilities, justifying his request by receiving threats, while he likes to practice his duties as a regular instructor in the college. Mosul University has witnessed several assassinations targeting professors of the university especially those who are affiliated to certain parties such as the Iraqi Islamic Party which the University president is a member of. Earlier on Monday, gunmen assassinated a security guard of Mosul University's president in Muthana neighborhood of Mosul city.
