Dozens of Ministry of Industry's employees demonstrated at the Firdous Square in central Baghdad Monday, calling the Minister of Finance Baqir Jabur al-Zubaidy to resign form his post.  Demonstrators chanted slogans, calling the minister to submit his resignation and pay accumulated salaries and bonuses of the Industry employees as from last January, in addition to the decided amounts of raise in salaries and danger allowances for the productive factories. The demonstrators also called for cancellation of decision over deducting 30% of their salaries. Member of the administration board of the Leather Industries Company Salah Hassan said that the decision NO. 22 of 2008 over paying the decided amounts of raise in salaries which was endorsed by Parliament, has included all ministries except for the ministry of industry. A demonstrator cited that "We have been informed of various official documents, calling finance minister to stop activating that decision, and to treat employees of industry ministry on equal basis like their counterparts in other ministries, but the calls were in vain."
