The Pentagon and the American Occupation Army announced the killing of two American soldiers in Mosul.
![]() A statement issued on Tuesday, October 7, by the American Occupation Army said, "A Multi-National Division - North Soldier died of wounds sustained from a small-arms fire attack in Mosul, Oct. 7."
On the other hand, US Department of Defence announced that Sgt. William P. Rudd, 27, of Madisonville, Ky., died Oct. 5 of wounds suffered from “enemy” small arms fire while on a combat patrol in Mosul, Iraq. These two announcements brings the number of American soldiers killed in the current month of October to 3, making the total number of American soldiers killed in Iraq since the invasion in 2003 up to 4179 of them 272 killed in 2008.
