American occupation forces in the city of Baiji in Salahuddin province have released a dozen of detainees who had been arrested last week.

A number of those released people had been arrested last week because of perpetrating an attack on a patrol killing two occupation soldiers.

Witnesses said: "The investigations carried out by the occupation forces have proved they have nothing to do with the attack on the patrol." 

For its part, government forces proceeded to re-arrest released people blaming them for killing occupation soldiers.
