Deputy in the current parliament, Nadim al-Jabiri accused the United States and Iran of being behind the sectarian project in Iraq. Al-Jabiri said: "The supported projects of the America and Iran are purely those who have sectarian tendencies, considering that this agenda to meet the wishes of each."

Al-Jabiri said: "The United States wants a new Middle east formulated in accordance with his political vision while politics of Iran is also similar in terms of its support for the sectarian project." He explained: "Some political forces has enlisted in these projects (sectarian), which brought the scourge of the Iraqi people."
