The U.S. occupation military base in al Batirah military airport 10 km northwest of the city of Amarah was subjected to seven Katyusha rocket attack on Monday morning.

A government police source said that the missiles felt in the "U.S. forces" presence and aircrafts around al Basateen area which is located behind al Hay and Martyrs districts at the entrance to the city of Amarah.

The source affirmed that: "The U.S. forces had prevented the course of the passage of vehicles on the highway and blocked traffic." The size of the losses resulting from the fall of the missiles were not disclosed.

Ammara City at the centre of Maysan Province is located about 360 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.
