A government source said in the city of Amarah in the Maysan province two American soldiers were killed by a sniper on Thursday.

The source said "The U.S. patrol was subjected in al Jadeedah area of center of Ammara City by shooting of a sniper who killed two American soldiers."

Source added:  "The American forces had blocked the roads leading to the scene and started to find for the sniper, while helicopters were flying around the area."
There was no statement or comment by the American occupation forces on the incident.
