A bomb targeted a convoy of U.S. occupation troops in al Alfu district of the southern Basra province according to a source in the government police.

The source explained: "The U.S. occupation forces imposed a security cordon around the scene of the accident. The sizes of material or human casualties after the explosion are not known."

It is noteworthy that the American forces are regulary being attacked by the Iraqi Resistance fighters in Basra.  Al Faw district is located 90 km south of Basra province.
