A patrol of the U.S. occupation forces has been subjected to a grenade attack in downtown Mosul, Nineveh province, yesterday (Monday).

A government source said that "unknown gunmen threw a grenade at a U.S. patrol in the market of al Toob at the city centre." The explosion resulted 16 people dead and wounded while it is not known whether among them there are soldiers or civilians.

As usually, occupation administration did not give any comment on the incident.
