An improvished explosive device went off Wednesday afternoon targeted a patrol of American forces in eastern of the capital Baghdad, said a government source.

The source pointed out that the bomb went off targeting "a U.S. patrol" near al Habibiyah hospital which resulted injury of two people who were present when the patrol was passing at the time.

The source added: Explosion damaged the wheel Humvee while losses among the patrol members are not known due to closure of the scene."
