The American occupation forces convoy was subject to the explosion of an improvised explosive device on Thursday morning  in the district of Khalis in Diyala province.

The government source said: "The explosion occurred in the district of Khalis, 20 kilometers north of Baquba, Diyala province. We did not know the size of the material damage or human casualties among the occupation forces so far."

Meanwhile puppet government forces imposed a cordon around the scene and closed the road leading to the scene of the explosion.

Many Iraqi cities recently witnessed a remarkable rise in a number of resistance operations against the occupation forces, particularly in Baghdad and the central governorates of Iraq.
