Wednesday, 09 July 2008 21:23

In the press statement the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) condemned American occupation forces for thieving the enriched Iraqi uranium.

HEYET Net – AMSI said in the press statement that the theft of enriched Iraqi uranium by US occupation forces was sold to a Canadian company in exchange for tens of millions of dollars.  AMSI affirmed that the right will return to his owner sooner or later and the occupation will not change the ownership.

Press Statement

“The Pentagon has stated that the transfer of 550 metric tons natural uranium in Ali al Jawda Centre from the remnants of the former nuclear programme from Iraq to Canada. The news leaked from American sources told that this quantity sold through Iraqi officials to the Canadian company of “Cameco Corporation” –which could be reached at www.cameco.com – in exchange for tens of millions of dollars. The source said that the mentioned Canadian company will be dealt with the material for use in reactors producing energy.”

AMSI Press Statement warned the parties involved in this robbery as following: “the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) condemns this robbery of American and Iraqi sides; affirming that this amount of national wealth is enormous and will be the responsibility of the US occupation to compensate Iraqis with real value.

For the aforesaid Canadian Company or any party related to this process, they should understand that they are participating in the robbery in a broad daylight. For the world: We invite the world to condemn this robbery of material which was able to rule Iraq for investment in energy programs for peaceful purposes and others.”
