

| AMSI Holds Its Fifth General Assembly |

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) held its annual general assembly in Damascus the capital city of Syrian Arab Republic from 25 to 27 July 2008.
![]() HEYET Net Damascus Office – AMSI General Headquarters, branches inside Iraq and abroad, participant organizations, representatives, observers, members, officials and many guests attended to the assembly. General Assembly started at 18:00 and ended at 20:30 airing alive in al Jazeera Mubasheer and al Rafiadain Satellite Channels where many prominent anti-occupation figures, organizations and representatives also participated. Sheikh Hareth Sulaiman al Dhari Secretary General of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI), Sheikh Jawad al Khalisi prominent Shia scholar and president of anti-occupation the Iraqi Founding Conference, Ameer bin Muawiah the representative of Yezidi Community, the Representatives of Southern and Northern Tribes, Sheikh Kazim al Inaizan represented Southern Tribes while Juma al Dawwar represented Northern Tribes. On the other hand many member of executive boards of AMSI, employees, managers, foreign bureau representatives, intellectuals and most importantly the representatives of leading anti-occupation organizations in Iraq and abroad also attended to the fifth general assembly of AMSI showing their solidarity and steadfastness against the occupation and destructive projects. Fifth General Assembly of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) will continue two days where many vital issues will also be discussed and dealt with. Huge participation in this assembly stresses the importance of the religious and national position of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) along with other organizations against all difficulties, crack downs, closing down of general headquarters, branches and hundreds of its cadres, imams, khateebs and leaders.
