The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) strongly condemned the brutal tactics and barbaric practices pursued by the government agencies, especially so-called Interior commandos against the loyal people of Iraq.
 


 

The AMSI in a statement issued today clarified that the arrests were unfair by the Sixth Brigade of these forces on Wednesday evening performed in a number of areas in the province of Diyala, which affected approximately forty officers of various ranks in the former Iraqi army.

“This was a flagrant violation of all moral, humanitarian laws and principles of human rights, as well as showing the smells of the abhorrent sectarianism.” told AMSI.  
 

AMSI explained that the brutal tactics exerted by the brigade against the arrested officers most of whom are elders and having high rankings shows that those troops who stand behind this embedded hatred against the national army and the loyal sons of the soil of this wounded country. At the end of the statement the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) called on all patriotic forces and the steadfast people of Iraq to condemn these unjust arrests; expression by all legitimate means for the absolute rejection of these heinous acts and to stand firmly and strongly with the army loyal to the homeland and its people behind the bar.

AMSI demanded the detainees’ immediate release.
