Press Statement

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful

Praise be to Allah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and companions.

Several churches in Baghdad and Mosul on Sunday has seen a series of bomb explosions in cars and mortar shells carried out from eleven morning to 16.00. In Baghdad the church of Mar Kourkis a monastery for the Sisters Za'faraniya, and the church in a suburb of Riyadh have been attacked by mortar fires.

These attacks led wounding some civilians and material losses.
Mario Paul Church of the Assyrians in northern Mosul has been targeted by the explosion of a car bomb. The Church of the Virgin Mary Assyrian located in a suburb east of Mosul has similar explosions. Monastery of the Catholic in New Mosul also targeted.

These bombings have led injury of a number of people in various injuries and serious damage to some churches, stores nearby.

With these attacks the attackers are suggesting behind doing this planning to perform one authority. It is just in its objectives behind this than usual confusion of the search for papers, to effect internal conflicts, to justify acts of reactions to the military occupation forces and their agencies in the government.

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) condemns these attacks and whomever they are standing behind them. It also invites Christian brothers to bear the shock, and restraint, like the Iraqis who were subjected to similar attacks.

The unity and cohesion of the Iraqi people a greater trend that affects them frivolous nonsense. Such steps do not reflect only despair to the assassins, actors doing these crimes. This marks a near way-out with help of Allah (swt).
