Press Statement (Number 522)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful,

Praise be to Allah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, His family and companions.

In a continuing escalation and within a series of kidnappings and killings evil forces still persist in the transgression by targeting both contrary to its sectarian thought, attitude and affiliation.

Today, the body of Sheikh Amjad Ramadan Yasin Taha al Ramadhani who was imam-preacher of al Fayha Mosque in al Amn al Dakhili region in Basra City was found in Medicine Department of Justice in Basra City

The armed group has kidnapped Sheikh, his son and a friend on the evening of 5 February 2008 from his home in al Kain in al Jamiyat region, later they released his son, friend and kept him.

This crime comes in the context of suffering children of this country from killings and kidnappings at the hands of sectarian death squads under the Government who claims the security situation has improved.

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) condemned this crime and warned the continuation of this sectarian approach confirming that those who stand behind this failed and increased suffer and outrage of people.

AMSI hold the occupation and the current government fully responsible for this crime; asking Allah Almighty to rest the martyr in peace and to inspire patience.
