The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) made a press statement condemning the murder of the abducted Bishop Paulos Faraj Rahho in Mosul City.
Press Department (Number 541) In the name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful, Praise be to Allah, peace and blessings upon the messenger of Allah, His family and companions. In the very known context in everybody, the enemies of this country still seeks to target its symbols, religious, political and cultural figures in accordance with sedition between the sons of one homeland and free the country from its own citizens who are working in it.
The criminals targeted the Archbishop of Mosul Paulos Faraj Rahho in 29th of this month abducting him and killing his driver along with two of his companions.
In spite of appeals and appeals from our association for the purpose of releasing him, this heinous sin was done and the deceased body of Bishop was found at the outskirts of the city of Mosul.
The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) strongly condemns this crime; sends its condolences to the rule Patriarch Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly, to all bishops and archbishops and all of our Christian people, and hopes this murder to be end.
AMSI also calls on all concerned groups, parties to restrain from these attacks.
Indeed Allah Almighty revenges from the oppressors sooner or later.
