AMSI Press Department published a press release confirming news about the control of al Iyaf Mosque by the sectarian militia groups. Meanwhile the press release also showed sufficient evidences of the crime while so-called al Sahwa elements withdrew from the area to protest takeover crime.

Spokesman for the American occupation forces denied the press statement of AMSI issued on 22 March 2008, number 544 about seizure of al Iyaf Mosque in al Madain City by the sectarian militia groups under the leadership named Mansour Atiyyah.

The Press Department of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) confirms the accuracy of the reported information in this regard. AMSI has sufficient evidence including the testimony of the dignitaries of the city and members of al Sahwa Organization.

On the other hand al Rafidain television channel also broadcasted the voices and pictures of the crime. All these evidences are emphasizing that on past Thursday the sectarian militia groups leading by Mansour Attiyah attacked and occupied al Iyaf Mosque in al Madain City while so-called Sahwa Members withdrew from the area in protest to this action.
