AMSI issued a press release condemning sectarian attacks of the militia and the government forces on the mosques in al Madain.
Information and Press Department of AMSI denounced at the press release the sectarian attacks waged by the militias in collarobation with the government forces on the villages in al Madain while dislodging the people, burning their houses and seizing two mosques. The sectarian militias in cooperation with the brigade known as Mustapha belong to the government attacked to Ali al Shaheen village in al Laj area of al Madain, southeast of Baghdad, forcing the residents of al Shajarat clan to leave. Meanwhile sectarian groups also burned the houses and seized Omar bin Khattab Mosque five days ago. They repeated the same crime in al Kartan village, seizing al Salam Mosque located near Dawajan area known in the same region. The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) denounced the heinous attacks warning to hand over the seized mosques to the owners.
