Fatwa Department of the Association of Muslim scholars in Iraq (AMSI) appealed and urged Muslims to investigate and to observe the sighting of the crescent of 1429 Hijri Ramadan on the evening of Saturday, 29 Shaban 1429, 30 August 2008.  

AMSI Fatwa Department invited and appealed to the Muslims in Iraq to investigate and observe on the sighting of the crescent for Ramadan of this year.  

At the statement it said: “Please make sure whoever has a vision of crescent – is charged with religiously – kindly give evidence and his/her witnesses in front of Fatwa Department in al Kubaysi Mosque in al Amiriyah, Baghdad or any other AMSI Branches present in the provinces.  

The Association of Muslim scholars in Iraq (AMSI) prayed Allah Almighty to make this holy month goodness and blessings upon all Muslims, and to spread security, safety and healthiness and Islam, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
