ImageEgyptian newspaper revealed today, Tuesday, that checks of weapons seized by Sudanese forces of the rebels from "the Justice and Equality Movement" in Khartoum on 10 May 2008s showed that some of them were modern Iranian-made weapons.

The Republic Newspaper quoted from the informed sources as saying: “There were also seized Iranian ammunition and equipment left behind by rebels after their defeat in front of Sudanese forces.

And launched so-called “the Justice and Equality Movement," an attack on the city of Omdurman that left dozens dead and wounded, and forced to flee the rebel forces after a violent confrontation with the army.

The newspaper said that “Iran has played a danger role in the recent coup attempt of " the Justice and Equality Movement" to seize power in Sudan and the installation of Khalil Ibrahim, Chairman of the Sudan president of the republic.

It also added that Khalil Ibrahim was famous for its relations with Iranian Embassy in Khartoum when he was regional minister of health and held many meetings with the Iranians under the pretexts of coordinating humanitarian aid of Iran to some areas in Sudan.

The inventory and inspection to his successor after the defeated rebels have been through a joint committee of the Sudanese armed forces, police and involved agencies. Many quantities of these weapons, ammunition and equipment exhibition were showed in Khartoum last week.

The Republic Newspaper did not rule out that Khalil Ibrahim had visited Tehran before launching its latest attack on Khartoum to discuss the step after his arrival in power in Sudan.
