HEYET Condemned Massive Executions of Prisoners

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq strongly condemned massive execution of Iraqi prisoners calling international community and human rights organizations to pressure Maliki Government to halt these crimes. 

Justice Ministry of Maliki Government has announced that 26 prisoners were hanged on 19 January 2014 where HEYET in the press release stressed that those injustice punishments are apparent violations of basic principles of human rights and challenge to international community. HEYET also reiterated that death penalties are aimed to be executed for most of prisoners within implementation of a systematic policy of government that aims to attract media from al-Anbar province developments to such news.
